Effective solutions for lice infestation. What to choose to eliminate the problem?

Lice infestation is undeniably an unpleasant and embarrassing parasitic disease. Many myths, mostly untrue, have sprung up around it, leading many parents to refrain from informing schools about their child’s lice detection.

This, in turn, exposes other children to the risk. Let’s make it clear: lice infestation is not a disease of the “poor” or those lacking hygiene. Even a child from a well-off family can catch it, and there is nothing unusual about it. It is crucial to act immediately and implement the right treatment using an effective lice treatment. Our guide presents a set of particularly recommended preparations.

Steps to treating lice: Which product works best?

Lice treatment involves three basic stages. The first stage is diagnosis, confirming that the problem is indeed lice. This can be easily assessed based on clear symptoms. About 2-3 weeks after infection, the child will start scratching their head intensely, which should alert parents. Early diagnosis of lice requires regular scalp inspections, for example, right after the nursery, kindergarten, or school announces a lice case.

Preventive head checks for the child are not difficult. Simply comb through the hair strands daily and observe for tiny eggs at their roots – these are nits, from which adult lice will develop in a few weeks. The presence of parasites can be easily confirmed with a white tissue, on which they will be clearly visible.

Tip: Lice most often nest behind the ears and around the nape of the neck.

Upon diagnosing lice, the next stage is proper treatment, which mainly involves using an effective lice treatment. Nitolic®, available in a set with a fine-tooth comb for combing out dead lice and nits, is highly recommended by parents and specialists.

Nitolic® is a convenient spray that needs to be applied to the child’s head only once. The procedure does not need to be repeated – thanks to the O-effect technology, the product covers the entire hair very thoroughly and eliminates parasites the first time, regardless of their development stage.

This very effective lice treatment is easy to wash off, highly efficient, and safe for the child and the entire family (treatment should include all household members where parasites are detected). The product does not contain pesticides harmful to humans.

The operation principle of this product is simple. Nitolic® blocks the respiratory system of the parasite, which is beneficial because it excludes the risk of developing resistance to the product’s ingredients. This highly effective lice treatment has undergone a full toxicological assessment and tests for potential allergic reactions to the skin. Its safety of use is also confirmed by the Polish National Institute of Public Health.

The third stage of treatment is eliminating lice and nits from the surroundings, mainly the home environment. The house should be thoroughly cleaned, floors and all nooks and crannies washed – remember that these parasites can survive up to two days outside the human head. Upholstered furniture, beds, mattresses, and hair styling accessories – combs, brushes, hair ties, pins, headbands, etc. – should be cleaned or washed.

Do not forget to wash all clothes, towels, and bedding at a minimum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. If this is not possible due to the delicacy of some materials, add Nitolic® Wash, to the wash, which effectively cleans fabrics of lice and nits.

Prevention is crucial

Even using an effective lice treatment and successfully completing the treatment does not guarantee that the problem will not return in the future. Unfortunately, lice tend to recur, so it is worth focusing on preventive measures. These include mainly using an appropriate products that protects against lice infestation.

Nitolic® prevent plus is an excellent choice. This spray is intended to protect against lice and their spread. The product can be used daily on the scalp and hair. Additionally, it is worth covering clothes with it.

Using this product is especially recommended when there is a real risk of lice infestation – for example, the kindergarten the child attends has reported a case of this disease. Nitolic® prevent plus should also be in the toiletry kit of a child going to camp, a trip, or a class excursion.

This effective lice treatment works physically, meaning it creates a protective film on the hair surface that prevents parasites from nesting on the head and laying eggs. The product is very easy to use, safe (it does not contain insecticides), does not grease the hair, and does not leave stains. It also emits a pleasant mint-lemon scent.
